Is this phone suitable for younger people?

When it comes to smartphones, many people are at odds as to whether they are ideal for people who are under 18. Some say that they will not allow their children to have a smartphone until they are old enough to pay for it themselves. Others still feel that they are a necessary tool in today’s world. While a basic phone will be enough for emergencies in most cases, it really is true that a child can get a lot more out of owning a more advanced phone.

One of the main reasons people do not feel that the BlackBerry smartphone is appropriate for young teens is the fact that they are more expensive. Basic phones that only call and text others are cheaper, especially if they do not use internet service. ”I bought my son Paul a BlackBerry. Biggest mistake! It was gone in three days, and found in the school lost and found box with a cracked screen. Never again!” Most kids are unable to take care of a phone and prevent it from being lost or damaged. If the BlackBerry is to be brought to school and stored in a locker, it can easily be stolen. Cheaper phones guarantee a lesser chance of being stolen, and may not be as delicate as smartphones, as well as not as expensive to fix.

However, the BlackBerry does offer many games in the App World, making it seem appealing to children and young teens. There are even educational games offered. Conversely, a parent might not want to give a child the power to use their credit card to purchase apps. The App World also does not offer any overly graphic sexual applications. The worst application in terms of kid friendliness is ”Pillowfight,” which allows the player to become a lingerie clad woman competing in a series of pillow fights.

Ideally, the BlackBerry is great for anyone who likes the idea of having all of their social medias in one device. Giving children so much power to spread information and discover new information might not be such a good idea. Games in the App World that are geared towards children can be kept on a parent’s BlackBerry and used by the child under careful supervision.
